The Coalition.
Founded in 2016, the Dignity Fund Coalition was organized to develop and to bring a charter amendment to the San Francisco ballot to increase stable funding and improve planning to meet the needs of a growing number of older adults and people with disabilities.
That measure, Proposition I, passed by an overwhelming majority and the Coalition continues to meet regular to provide input and advocacy.
The Coalition is comprised of a cross-section of community leaders, service providers and representatives from the senior, disability, veterans, LGBTQ community.
At the Dignity Fund Coalition
We believe that enabling San Franciscans who are older or who live with a disability to have safe and healthy lives strengthens our city for everyone.
We promote community-based home and neighborhood services and advocate for alternatives to institutional care.
We are proud that the creation of the Dignity Fund is helping San Franciscans receive more of the support and services they need to age with dignity.
. . . and we provide an exciting model for other communities across the country.
